ANDY RUIZ JR wants to have a trilogy of fights with Anthony Joshua in a bid to win back the heavyweight belts.
The Mexican-American stunned the boxing world with a sensationally of Joshua in June last year. But Ruiz Jnr could not replicate the brilliant performance when he confronted AJ in a rematch in Saudi Arabia as Nigeria – born pugilist put up a masterclass to reclaim his titles six months later.
He came into the second bout at over 20st and admitted three months of partying had screwed his chances of creating more history.
He previously vowed to come back “stronger and better” if offered the opportunity to step back into the ring with AJ.
Now, the American wants a third fight against the unified world heavyweight champion.
Ruiz Jnr declared his intentions for a trilogy by calling the Watford superstar out on Instagram.
He wrote: “I got the first one, you got the second. Let’s run it back a third time and see what happens.”
Ruiz comments came off the back of promoter Eddie Hearn’s statement which suggested Joshua could fight Tyson Fury if Kubrat Pulev and
Deontay Wilder stepped aside.
Hearn backed Pulev to take a cash offer and avoid a scrap with AJ but thinks Wilder has too much pride.
