Ighalo to snub Shenhua’s offer to extend United stay

Retired Super Eagles forward, Odion Jude Ighalo has confirmed he wants to sign for Manchester United on a permanent deal once his loan move from Chinese giants, Shanghai Shenhua is over.

The 2019 African Cup of Nations goals king has been offered a mouthwatering £400,000-a-week to remain at Shanghai Shenhua beyond his current deal, which expires in December 2022.

But the former Watford man is ready to snub their advances to stay at United.

In a Twitter exchange with a fan on Friday night, Ighalo was asked if he would like to remain at Manchester United if he was offered a contract extension and, the striker said: “Of course.”

Ighalo has become an overnight sensation at the theatre of dream after his deadline day move to the Red Devils.

With four goals in eight matches for the former English Premier League champions, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has dropped the hint that he would like to keep the former Super Eagles striker beyond his loan deal which expires in June.

The ‘baby faced Assasin’ noted that Ighalo has brought something different to United’s attack with his physicality and ability to hold on play and release other strikers to score goals.

Ighalo is ready to match the word with action by snubbing Shanghai Shenhua’s offer and take a pay cut to fulfill his Manchester United dream.
